Broken Faucet

by Alex Seel

1.
I traveled on the wrong trying to find a way off it I had a big red balloon till a bigger kid popped it Lost my key to the door did you ever come across it? Seems I struggle with the flow like a broken faucet I got my coat & a pocket full of small change Got a good, good friend and a belly full of yellow flames I got a rose and ticket for a fast train I got a short fuse fixed and a remedy to use your pain Well the clockwork doll she could never keep a-smiling And the tears of a clown no they're never drip-drying There's a fat rat gambling on the road it's looking rocky & nobody here relaxed there’s a crowd getting jumpy I got some boots & a penny for your wishing well I got a flute and a glimpse of where the blue sky fell Can flick a coin, don't mind a-heads or tails if it lands I'm by the stream with a bucket full of bad dreams off my hands Some people will come & some people will go Moving round and round from town to town, where they are you never know But there's no point me banging my head on this wall Circling round & round on the same old ground waiting for the axe to fall I got my coat & a pocket full of small change Got a good, good friend and a belly full of yellow flames Can flick a coin, don't mind a-heads or tails if it lands I'm by the stream with a bucket full of good times on my hands

Poor Boy 02:49
Poor Boy working hard For more than peanut pay But his time is dwindling Like autumn days Poor Boy thinking hard Poor Boy been hard done Where did those big dreams go? Where do they run? From where, oh where do they come? Poor boy working hard But the taxman takes his pay He’s got a bone to pick Anyway For empty promises You lose your rag But you swim along with the tide When you’re waving your blue flag Poor Boy feeling scared Of losing all he pined A worried wife at home A worried mind Poor boy lost his job God knows he needs a hand Seems any foot could fall In quick sand For empty promises You got no bag But you swim along with the tide Now you’re waving your red flag A two-way conversation Is now a one-way street Opinion steam rolls us Off our feet For empty promises You’ve lost your rag But you swam along with the tide Now you’re waving your white flag Poor Boy thinking hard Poor Boy been hard done Where did those big dreams go? Where do they run?
